Corfu is a popular holiday hotspot, renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. Services are in high demand during the peak summer season, so passengers are advised to book ferries in advance. Ventouris Ferries operate sailing between Corfu and Bari. Passengers can sail to Bari from Corfu every day, except Saturday and the journey time is 10 hours.
Blue Star Ferries offer daily sailings to Brindisi, stopping at Igoumenitsa along the way with a journey time of six hours. MyWay Maritime also sails to Brindisi with a longer 13 hour sailing. Other companies covering this route include Hellenic Mediterranean Lines and Fragline.
Ferries between Corfu and Trieste are operated by Anek Line and the crossing takes 22 hours. This ferry company also links Corfu with Igoumenitsa and Patras. All ferries are well equipped to cater for passengers needs and include disabled facilities such as toilets and ramps, dining facilities (with a range of options) bars, lounges, outdoor decks and first aid facilities.
On the island, a good bus service connects the main towns. Buses are a cheap and convenient way to explore the island, but vehicles tend to get very crowded during the busy summer period. Taxis are also a good way to travel – offering direct and comfortable rides. Ferries connect this holiday island with a host of Italian destinations as well as other ports in Greece.
