Denia, in Spain, and Ibiza are of fairly close proximity and travelling between the two destinations is often accomplished by using the regular ferry crossings which are available. Denia is most definitely worth a visit if you like sandy beaches and stunning hillside views.
The port in Denia looks across to a magnificent hillside castle which is popular with tourists who can enjoy the building along with excellent 360 degree views from the grounds. You will also find a good selection of other monuments in the area. Denia itself is not generally regarded as a tourist city, but does in fact feature lovely beaches and areas of interest.
Balearia Ferries provides services for many of the Denia-Ibiza-Palma routes available. They provide normal ferries, high speed vessels and ro-ro services, depending on the route. This competitively priced operator always provides frequent services which are reliable and comfortable and this is true of their Denia to Ibiza ferries. This is because they are one of the largest and oldest operators of routes within the islands.
The journey itself is relatively quick. Usually you can buy refreshments when on board a ferry but you will not be permitted to smoke on board. Anyone who suffers from sea sickness would be advised to stay on deck of the ferry where possible, although the seas on this route are not especially rough.
Ibiza ferry port is right on the edge of Dalt Vila, a world heritage site as listed by UNESCO. Of course Ibiza itself is a renowned hotspot for late night revelling and many visitors will be primarily interested in this part of the island’s tradition. However, it is worth noting that Ibiza offers a lot more besides this, including a fine cathedral and historic city walls. During the day time, the many beaches close to the port can provide welcome relaxation and sun bathing.
