For a family looking to spend time in natural surroundings but visit Disneyland as well, Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch is in an ideal location. Set amongst 140 acres of forest and woodland, Davy Crockett has the advantage of lodge accommodation. The forest retreat is made up of individual wood bungalows with one and two bedroom options.

To travel to Disneyworld Paris, there are regular flights from London and Southampton to Paris Orly, where Disneyland has free transfers from the airport. Eurostar runs a very good daily service also from London, but directly to Disneyland. The sea option is to take the Dover ferry to Calais and then the rail service to Chessy.

As Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch is a little distance from the main Disney Village, guests are advised to use car rental. All the major car rental companies can provide a vehicle for the trip. The lodges are ideal for a family self catering holiday with everything needed in a kitchen fully equipped with microwave, hob, dishwasher and a host of other amenities.

The bedrooms are light and airy with a double bed and bunk beds. There’s also a sofa bed in the lounge. The restaurant serves breakfast which can be taken back to the lodge, and in the evening there is a good range of meat dishes at Crockett’s Tavern.

One of the great features of Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch is the indoor swimming pool with water slides. For fitness, there is a jogging trail as well as tennis courts, archery and pony rides for the children. As an alternative way of visiting Disneyworld, the Ranch is worth considering.
