The Douglas to Heysham ferry route is a relaxing way to travel to the Isle of Man. It is a 3 hour, 30 minute journey by conventional ferry but passengers can enjoy the sea air and coastal views along they way. Passengers will have access to a toilet and snacks whilst aboard the ferry and both the ports on the Isle of Man and at Heysham also have facilities geared towards people on holiday.

Douglas Port is a small port with limited facilities. You will have access to a snack bar and convenience store, but for anything else, it is advisable to make your way into the centre of town. Luckily, the island has transport services are right at hand at the Douglas ferry Port.

The Steam Packet Company operates from the Isle of Man and runs ferry services to various destinations around the British Isles. This company serves the Douglas to Heysham route with two types of ferry: standard ferries and Fast craft Ferries. The latter are only available from June to August, but cut the journey time down to about two hours.

Passengers with disabilities will be accommodated as much as is possible and the Steam Packet Company has a policy of making their services available to everybody. None the less, they should be notified of any particular issues at the time of booking a ticket.

Open 24 hours every day, Heysham ferry port is a fairly major installation, with good facilities available to passengers. You will find an excellent TV lounge and an area for children to play in. Hot and cold food is available at reasonable prices from various outlets including a Little Chef Express.
