Dover Ferry Port is situated on the south- east coast in Kent in the UK. It is one of the busiest ferry ports in the world and as it is only 21kms from France, it is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Europe.’ There are currently four ferry operators operating out of Dover Ferry Port –SeaFrance, P&O Ferries, Norfolkline and LD Lines.
All ferries operate out of the Eastern Docks Ferry Port and there are regular daily crossings to Boulogne, Calais and Dunkirk on France. Short term and long term parking is available in the multi-storey car park next to the Eastern Docks.
Inside the ferry terminal, there are banking facilities available including an ATM and a bureau de change. There is also an information desk, café, toilets with baby changing facilities, a newsagent and public telephones. After you have checked in for your ferry, and entered the ferry departure lounge, you will find more dining options and banking facilities.
SeaFrance have 15 ferry crossings per day from Dover to Calais. P&O Ferries operate up to 46 sailings per day between Dover and Calais. The journey time takes around 90 minutes. There are no ferry services on Christmas Day.
Norfolkline operates 12 daily (except Christmas Day) return ferry crossings between Dover and Dunkirk. The journey time takes two hours. LD Lines sails to Boulogne four times a day Monday to Friday and three times a day at weekends. The journey time is around one hour.
There are regular trains and buses from Dover to and from central London. For those taking the train, there are direct services to Dover Priory Station from London Charing Cross Station and London Victoria Station. The journey time is 1 hour, 45 minutes. From Dover Priory Station free bus transfers to the Eastern Docks Ferry Terminal are provided by the ferry companies.
For for those travelling by car, the port can easily be reached by taking either the M20 or the A2. Dover Ferry Port is clearly signposted.
