Nearly 1.2 million passengers pass through Dublin Port each year making it Ireland’s busiest passenger ferry port. There are 17 sailings per day from Dublin Port to Holyhead, Heynsham, Liverpool and Douglas. Six ferry companies currently operate out of Dublin Port; these are Irish Ferries, Stena Line, P&O Irish Sea, Norfolkline Ferries, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and Seatruck Ferries.
Dublin Port is situated close to Dublin’s city centre and is clearly signposted for those arriving by car. There are also regular bus services from the bus station in central Dublin to the port plus there are plenty of taxis available. There are no direct rail links to Dublin Port; however there are frequent Intercity services to Connolly Station and Heuston Station in Dublin from most major towns and cities in Ireland.
At the port you will find a coffee shop selling light meals and refreshments, a newsagents, toilets with baby-changing facilities and banking facilities. There are both short term and long term car parks available at the port with some parking places allocated for those with disabilities. For people travelling with disabilities, the port provides easy access for wheelchairs to all areas and assistance is provided for those who require assistance when boarding.
Irish Ferries which boasts the largest car ferry in the world offers four daily ferry crossings from Dublin to Holyhead. Stena Line also offers four daily services from Dublin to Holyhead. P&O Irish Ferries have three daily services to Liverpool from Dublin. Norfolkline have two daily passenger ferry services to Liverpool and two daily freight services to Heynsham. Isle of Man Steam Packet Company operate a seasonal ferry service to Douglas and Seatruck Ferries operate two freight services per day to Liverpool.
Located between the North Bull Wall and the Great South Wall of Dublin Port, you will find Bull Island. Here is a bird sanctuary, two golf courses and nearly 6kms of beach.
