East Cowes Port is situated on the Isle of Wight just off the southern coast of England. There are regular ferry crossings, both car ferry and passenger ferry between Cowes and Southampton. There are buses and taxis waiting at the terminal at East Cowes to take you to your destination on the island or for those bringing their own car, the island is clearly signposted and easy to find your way around.
The Isle of Wight Bus Company Southern Vectis offer regular bus services from East Cowes Port to Ryde and Newport. During the busy summer months, there are additional bus services to most key destinations on the island.
The ferry terminal at East Cowes is situated very close to the nearby shopping area where you find some local shops, banking facilities and eateries. The water taxi berth and floating bridge across the River Medina to Cowes, on the Isle of Wight is also extremely close, just a three minute walk from the ferry terminal. Car parking is available in front of the ferry terminal and also by the waterfront.
The Red Funnel Ferry Group based in Southampton offers regular ferry services to Cowes. The car ferry to East Cowes takes around 55 minutes. Red Funnel Ferries also operate a fast passenger ferry service to West Cowes. The journey time is just 23 minutes. Red Funnel Ferries sail every day except Christmas Day.
Onboard the ferry, there is a shop, bar and café selling snacks and refreshments. These onboard facilities are easily accessible to people with wheelchairs, although the outdoor deck is not suitable for wheelchair users.
For those departing from East Cowes Port to Southampton, there are regular intercity trains to London Waterloo Station. Southampton is also easily accessed by motorway. From London take the M3 motorway, and from other towns along the south coast take the M27.
