Eckerö Line Ferries provides a daily ferry crossing between Helsinki in Finland and Tallinn in Estonia. The journey time is 3 hours, 30 minutes on board the Finnish vessel M/S Nordlandia. The ferry currently departs Helsinki at 08:00 and leaves Tallinn at 17:00, allowing for day trips or for those wishing to stay longer in Estonia, Eckerö Line Ferries can assist with hotel reservations.
The vessel M/S Norlandia was originally built in 1981 in Germany but has been extensively refurbished. It can carry 2000 passengers, up to 450 cars and 40 trucks. On board there are 228 cabins, with four cabins available for disabled passengers and 14 cabins for people travelling with pets.
There are many facilities on board M/S Norlandia. On the boarding deck, as well as a reception area and a place to store luggage, there is the Eckerö Market. This is a large shopping area selling a range of high-quality goods including perfumes, cosmetics and wine at value for money prices. There is also a great choice of restaurants; you can choose between a buffet resturant, a steak house, cafeteria and bar. Entertainment provided by Finnish artists is available in the Dance Bar. For those who enjoy singing, Karaoke is also available. There is also a playroom available for children.
There are also a wide choice of meeting and conference rooms available on M/S Norlandia. The smallest rooms can accommodate up to eight people but the largest conference room can hold up to 100 delegates.
Tallinn makes a great day trip from Finland, arriving in Tallinn in time for lunch and there are plenty of good restaurant, bars and coffee shops in Tallinn’s Old Town. Spend your afternoon wandering around this medieval city or sampling beer at some of the microbreweries. If you just want to relax, you can try one of the many beauty salons.
