Haugesund sits down in the southwest of Norway and is the ‘Viking Capital of the World’. Freight ferries to Haugesund come in from Newcastle and Hanstholm via other well known destinations. Services are fast and efficient and the ferry terminal is well equipped.

The ferry terminal is a ten-minute walking from the centre of Haugesund and taxis and buses run for the duration. It sits on Risoy Island, which is just offshore and linked to the mainland by bridge. The town itself is a popular place to visit as a final destination for tourists with freight ferries to Haugesund.
As the Viking capital, it is loaded with sights and attractions for the visitor, including many monuments and museums that show off the city’s illustrious past. In addition, Haugesund also has some excellent shopping and dining, plus it is a popular draw every August when the Norway Film Festival is on.
