Upon arrival into Guernsey, visitors will have the privilege of venturing onward to its charming capital city of St Peter Port, where quaint streets, attractive architecture, and friendly locals will undoubtedly ignite your adoration.
From the ferry terminal, the city centre is a mere 10 minutes by foot, or under five minutes by car or public transport. Here, there is a plethora of fine dining options, shopping facilities, and photo opportunities. From Guernsey, tourists can opt for inter-island ferries to Jersey, or crossings to the UK and France.
One of the companies offering crossings from Guernsey is Condor Ferries. Currently, there are five ports that connect to Guernsey via Condor Ferries, including the port of Guernsey to Poole (three hours), Jersey (one hour), Portsmouth (10 hourds), St Malo (two hours) and Weymouth (just over two hours). The busiest crossing is to St Malo, occurring 10 times weekly.
Manche Iles Express also operates various crossings to Jersey and Alderney of the English Channel Islands, and the French port cities of Carteret and Dielette. All journeys are about one hour in duration, and the vessels used are the two high-speed catamarans, Marin-Marie and Victor Hugo.
HD Ferries has recently begun connections between Guernsey, Jersey and various French cities. HD Ferries operates about six crossings daily using fast service catamarans. Onboard facilities include duty-free shopping, licensed bars and comfortable lounge seating.
Some of the facilities available inside the Guernsey port terminal include shops, ATM’s, an eatery, and baby changing rooms. There are also several facilities for disabled passengers in the terminal, including ramp access and specially fitted restrooms. It is recommended that extra assistance passengers notify ferry company staff at the time of booking.
