Cheap Ferry to Holyhead Port

Situated upon the Isle of Anglesey in the north of Wales, the Port of Holyhead is a 24 hour operating, deep water docking station. Run by Stena Line Ports, Holyhead port handles both passenger and vehicle services, and as a result, has become one of Wales’ most reputable port terminals.

Known as an historic gateway between Ireland and Britain, Holyhead offers many crossings to Dublin. The most popular ferry company making this journey is Stena Line; which operates the route using several vessels, including the Stena Explorer, Stena Adventurer and the Stena Nordica. The ferries generally make two connections daily, with journey durations between two and three hours, depending on the conditions and vessel.

The Stena Line boasts a modern fleet, with excellent services onboard for passengers. Some of the amenities include spacious cabins, lounges, viewing decks, and a range of onboard dining services.

Irish Ferries also make crossings between Holyhead and Dublin, with the vessels Ulysses and Jonathon Swift. Both vessels connect Holyhead-Dublin twice daily, with the Jonathon Swift making the faster route in a little less than two hours. Both ships offer exquisite facilities onboard, including upper-class cabins, vessel tours, and splendid fine dining options.

The terminal facilities at Holyhead are relatively convenient, providing passengers with café’s serving hot and cold snacks or beverages, baby changing rooms, ATM’s, money exchange services, and information booths. Disabled patrons are also provided with services to assist in the navigation of the terminal, including elevator and ramp access, and disabled parking bays.

If driving to the Port of Holyhead, then the A55 motorway enables expedient access to Anglesey Island if driving from Northern Wales, or the A5 if venturing from the south. Both short term and long term parking is available at the terminal building. Holyhead also has rail connections to most of the major English cities, including London and Manchester.
