Handling over 10 million tonnes of freight and 1 million passengers annually, the Port of Hull is the sole passenger port in the Humber region. Operated by Britain’s largest port company, Associated British Ports (ABP), the port has seen an influx of passenger traffic over the past years due to Hull’s growth as an attractive holiday destination. Currently, there are two European connections from Hull’s port – Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.
The crossing from Hull to Rotterdam docks at Europort, and takes about 11 – 12 hours. P&O North Sea Ferries operate the crossing once a day, using the modern and stylish vessels –The Pride of Hull and The Pride of Rotterdam. The route is an overnight trip, departing from Hull at 21:00 and arriving in Europort at about 08:15 the following morning.
P&O North Sea Ferries also handle the route between Hull and Zeebrugge in Belgium. The crossing takes about 11 hours to complete and is also an overnight journey, departing Hull at 21:00 and docking at 08:00 at Rotterdam’s Europort. P&O uses The Pride of Bruges and The Pride of York for this journey.
The vessels are equipped with superb facilities that will delight passengers from the moment of boarding. Spacious and luxurious cabins, elegant and informal dining options, relaxing lounges and bars, a cinema, casino and kids club will undoubtedly impress and unwind passengers during the journey.
Although it caters for a large number of passengers each year, the port of Hull consists of rather limited services for passenger convenience. A convenience store is located in the terminal, along with a coffee shop. Nevertheless, passengers with limited mobility are well catered for in the facility, with lift and ramp access, specially fitted toilet cubicles, and disabled parking bays provided. It is also located close to the city centre where there are ample facilities.
