Latlines operates ferries connecting Latvia with Germany. The ferry company operates a ferry route with four crossings a week between Riga in Latvia and Luebeck in Germany. Each crossing lasts about 34 hours.
The company’s fleet consists of three vessels: the Vilnius, Mermaid II, and the Siauliai. These boats are well maintained and adhere to all international safety standards. The Mermaid II is the primary passenger ferry for this route and accommodates up to 110 passengers and 170 vehicles. The Vilnius largely functions as a freight ship, and therefore, is only able to accommodate 12 passengers for the lengthy journey.
Riga is the capital city of Latvia and also a bustling hub for commerce and freight. The port town serves as a cultural and commercial centre for the Baltic region as it is famous for its traditional architecture, recently being named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city is also home to Lutheran Cathedral, the largest church within the Baltic States.
Luebeck is also a busy port town which thrives on commerce and tourism. The sister city to Riga, Luebeck has also been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for its rich gothic architecture. The city is also a popular attraction during Christmas time, as like other German cities, it is well known for its Christmas markets and festivities. Luebeck is the largest German port situated on the Baltic Sea and also sits on the banks of the Trave River.
Reservations can be made by contacting Latlines ticket offices by phone, internet, or simply by visiting a ticket office at the desired departure port.
