Oslo Port can be found just outside Norway’s capital and largest city. It serves as one of Scandinavia’s major ferry hubs and services routes to and from the German city of Kiel, the Danish cities of Copenhagen and Frederikshavn, and Norway’s nearby Bygdoy peninsula.
The ferry terminal is conveniently situated near downtown Oslo and includes a small cafeteria and intimate departure lounge. Many more restaurants, bars, and attractions are just a brief walk away.
Ferry services between Oslo Port and Kiel are provided by Color Line, with ferries leaving both cities at 17:00 and arriving on the other side at 10:00 the following morning. Both the Color Fantasy and Color Magic include a large variety of cabins, eight restaurants, 163 metre-long shopping promenades, casinos, bars, spas, and golf simulators. The Color Fantasy is also the world’s biggest cruise ship which includes a car deck.
Stena Line provides regular ferry service between Oslo Port and Frederikshavn, Denmark aboard the Stena Sega, a crossing which lasts about 8 hours, 30 minutes. Ferry services between Copenhagen and Oslo Port are offered by DFDS Seaways aboard either the Pearl of Scandinavia or the Crown of Scandinavia, two of the company’s biggest and most modern ferries. Both ships leave each city at 17:00 each evening and arrive at the other city the next morning, with a stop at the Swedish city of Helsingborg in between.
A much shorter, but no less enjoyable, ferry voyage also sails from Oslo Port to the nearby Bygdøy peninsula between the beginning of April and end of October. Many of the area’s finest museums can be found in this area, including the Viking Ships Museum, the Norwegian Maritime Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum, and the Norwegian Folk Museum.
