Parakia is the main town on Paros and where the ferry port is located. The ferry route from Paros to Skiathos is operated by Minoan Lines who are probably the biggest ferry operator in the Greek islands. Other ferry service providers also use the ferry port at Paros as a stopping off point en-route to the many islands of the Cyclades.
Paros is not a large island which makes travelling from the many popular resorts to and from the ferry port very easy by road. Taxis are not expensive here and the majority of passengers find this the best way of getting around.
With the ferry terminal being located close to the centre of Parakia, many Paros to Skiathos ferry passengers stop off in the town rather than use the limited facilities of the port. Skiathos ferry port is situated in Skiathos town and provides the usual range of facilities for passengers. Like in Paros, the proximity of Skiathos ferry port to the town gives passengers easy access to the wider selection of amenities available. Taxis are available just outside the exits of the port to take passengers to the islands many resorts.
