From March until November, Brittany Ferries provides up to three crossings to Roscoff in France. The journey takes around six hours during the day, and eight hours for the overnight crossing. Plymouth port is a modern passenger terminal, with a good range of services, and facilities on board the Duc de Normandie and the Val de Loire ferries are also excellent.
The size and layout of Plymouth Port allows the port to stay free from congestion. The extensive vehicle marshalling areas allow traffic to flow and passengers can look forward to embarking without delay. There is short and long-stay car parking facilities at the ferry terminal, both are free.
Before boarding the ferry, passengers can enjoy a bite to eat or a refreshing drink in the port’s café. A bureau de change provides passengers the opportunity to purchase French currency. Passengers wishing to grab last minute travel essentials for their ferry trip will find a good range of confectionary and newspapers in the convenience store.
On board the ferry, passengers can enjoy a meal or relaxing drink in a number of different outlets. Delicious French cuisine is available all on vessels, as well as a special children’s menu to keep little sailors content. There is also entertainment onboard the ferry, so passengers can relax and enjoy the crossing to France.
On arrival in France, passengers are welcomed by the picturesque village of Roscoff and the stunning coastline of west Brittany. An excellent road network connects Roscoff with the rest of Brittany while ferries provide a gateway to Plymouth in the UK, and Cork in the Republic of Ireland.
The Roscoff port terminal is a modest facility with limited services, although there is a small store and a number of vending machines. Plymouth Port has disabled toilet facilities, however passengers should contact Brittany Ferries to advise of any special needs, prior to travel.
