Situated in the southwest Istria, Pula is one of the most important seaports in the region. Although it is a major point of passage, it is also known for its sandy beaches and tourist hotspots. Pula’s location within the bay provides scenic views of St Andrew and Catherine.
The port facilities at Pula ferry port include public toilets, a small convenient store and currency exchange office. For those who wish to grab a quick bite to eat before taking the ferry, there are a couple of food and beverage venues on hand. If arriving to the port with private transportation, the gas station is nearby at a smaller pier.
In addition to gas station and parking facilities, ferry ports also have services and facilities for disabled travellers. Special needs passengers are advised to phone ahead to make prior arrangements for wheelchair assistance prior to boarding vessels. Upon request, staff members of vessels may also assist travellers with their boarding needs.
It is best to check ferry schedules before travelling as they times and frequency of routes vary throughout the year. The summer months usually have more routes available than during the winter. The summer schedule is from 28 May to 30 September. Venizia Lines operates catamaran ferry services during the summer season for routes departing Pula Port to Pirano, Porec, Portoroz and Roving.
Accessing Pula port is fairy simple as there are bus and rail routes to and from cities across Croatia. For those arriving by car, Pula’s ferry port is connected to most towns across the country via the M2 and E751 roads. If travelling to Pula from cities outside of Croatia, the local airport is roughly 6kms from the ferry port.
