The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port and every day receives passenger and cargo ships from across the world. Rotterdam is a fine city full of character and modern architecture, the majority of visitors arrive and depart from the ferry terminal at the Hook of Holland.
There is an overnight daily ferry service from P&O North Sea Ferries between Rotterdam and Hull taking around 11 hours with sailings at 21:00 from Rotterdam and arriving at 08:15 in Hull on weekdays and 09:00 at weekends. Return sailings leave Hull at 21:00 daily, arriving in Rotterdam at 08:00 local time.
The timetable during holidays and festive periods may vary and it is advisable to check with the ferry operator for confirmation. Ferry check in desks will close around 90 minutes prior to the ferry sailing.
The ferry port has adequate facilities as you would expect; with cafés and restaurants in addition to shopping and money changing facilities. P&O ferries operate two ships on the route with The Pride of Rotterdam and The Pride of Hull and facilities are excellent on board both. Live entertainment, cinemas, refreshments, restaurants and bars are available on board.
Rotterdam port is adequately linked to the surrounding area and Europe by road with the A4/E19 motorway merging into the A13 at Den Haag on the main Rotterdam ring road. There is a regular rail link from Rotterdam city centre and a bus route from Rotterdam Central Station to the ferry port. In addition the international airport is 20 minutes away.
The ferry port terminal at Rotterdam has facilities for both long term and short term parking with discounts for long term parking. There are also facilities for disabled users with designated parking areas. P&O Ferries also has facilities for disabled passengers and you should check with the operator prior to booking.
