Located on the Dalmatian Coast in north Croatia, Rovinj and has a distinctively Italian feel. A busy fishing port with cobble streets and a promenade the local ferry port connects the town with Italy and other cities in the region.
Venezia Lines operates a ferry service to Venice in Italy and the neighbouring towns of Porec, Pula and Pirin. The seasonal ferry can operate up to five times a week during peak season from Rovinj and takes around 3 hours, 30 minutes to complete if there are stops and 2 hours, 45 minutes if sailing direct. Ferry sailings leave the port of Rovinj around 07:00 on the day of sailing.
As the sailing timetable varies at different times of the year, it is best to contact the ferry operator as to the confirmed timetable prior to sailing. Check in times for boarding the catamarans are around one hour prior to sailing.
The three catamarans used for this crossing are well equipped for the short journey including air conditioned lounges, bars for refreshments and snacks and tax free shopping. The port of Rovinj has little in the way of facilities however nearby are refreshment areas and amenities to use whilst waiting on your sailing.
There is a local road link using the M2 and E751 motorways which travels up to the Slovenian border. The nearest rail link is in the town of Pula around 25 miles away as is the nearest local and international airport.
There is both long term and short term parking available at the ferry port of Rovinj but it is limited during the peak summer period. For disabled passengers, the ferry operator do cater for disabled passengers but it is wise to check if special requirements will be requested.
