Sea France Ferries offers up to twenty sailings daily along the Dover-Calais route, with trips all around the clock. On board the Rodin, the sailings will take 1 hour, 10 minutes, whilst on all other vessels trips take 1 hour, 30 minutes. This route is the only one offered by SeaFrance.
Their fleet consists of the Rodin, the Moliere, the Nord Pas de Calais and the Berlioz. Each of these vessels provide travellers with the upmost comfort with top quality facilities and authentic French atmosphere.
The Rodin, which was built in Finland, is SeaFrance’s largest vessel, carrying up to 1,900 passengers in great comfort, as well as the capacity to hold 700 cars or 120 lorries. The seating in the lounge area is fantastic on this ship and other facilities include Le Parisien bar on the 7th deck and La Brasserie cafeteria on the 8th.
The Berlioz is the second biggest vessel of the fleet also holding 1,900 passengers as well as 700 cars or 100 lorries. The Berlioz is the Rodin’s sister ship and once inside you can enjoy the ride in style with tasteful interior design and facilities including La Brasserie restaurant, Le Pub, a boutique and cosy lounge areas. Both of these ships handle most of the passenger traffic on the route.
The Moliere is the company’s smallest vessel with a passenger, with a maximum capacity of 1,200 passengers and 480 cars or 110 trucks. Whilst spectacular on the outside, the ships facilities are a little below par as the construction of the vessel was rushed. However it is worth venturing onto the outside decks to take in the scale of the ship and catch some sea breeze.
Finally, the Nord Pas de Calais carries only trucks and lorries and serves only the transport industry. The ship can hold up to 85 lorries and 100 drivers at any one time. SeaFrance offers six return crossings on the Dover-Calais route.
