Stena Line is one of the world’s largest ferry transportation companies, providing services for several countries in Europe, Scandinavia and the UK. Consisting of over 18 routes throughout northern Europe, Stena Line began operating the route from Karlskrona in Sweden, to Gdynia in Poland in 2002.
The Stena Line Poland route operates twice daily, using two different vessels, the Stena Baltica and the Finnarrow ferry. Crossings take a little over 10 hours, therefore the timetable is generally organized so one ship departs in the morning, while the other vessel sails overnight. Check-in for these connections must be made one hour prior to departure.
The Finnarrow ferry is known as a Ro-pax vessel, and has a high freight to passenger ratio, accommodating about 800 cars and around 200 passengers. The Stena Baltica is a more passenger orientated ferry, carrying 450 cars and over 1200 patrons.
Both the Stena Baltica and the Finnarrow have a plethora of quality facilities to satisfy customer comfort and satisfaction onboard. These include delightful restaurants, entertaining bars and lounges, a children’s adventure area and a casino. However, the Stena Baltica was designed to carry more passengers than the Finnarrow, so this vessel is also equipped with a night club, sundeck and beauty salon.
For passenger comfort, they both boast extremely restful cabins, with generous space, hygienically clean bed sheets, private restrooms, and a shower. Passengers can choose from the more inexpensive standard cabin, to family-sized abodes, to luxury suites. Whatever cabin travelers opt for, they will be guaranteed a comfortable night’s rest on board.
The Stena Baltica also provides many services to assist passengers in need. An information desk is located on deck 6 and is opened 24 hours. Pets are permitted to travel, but are not allowed in public areas and must remain in cabins under strict guidelines. Also, wi-fi internet is provided at a small cost.
