Symril Lines Ferries

Smyril Lines are known as the explorers of the North Atlantic. Established in 1982, the Smyril Line international shipping company has grown to become one of Europe’s most reputable ferry lines. Countries connected via Smyril Lines’ network of routes include Iceland, Denmark and the Faeroe Islands.

The route sailed by Smyril Lines is determined by the month of the year and weather conditions, however, in general the ferry line links the Danish ports of Hanstholm and Esbjerg with Torshavn in the Faeroe Islands and Seyðisfjörður, Iceland.

Smyril Lines operates this route about once a week. The aforementioned service was originally a seasonal route, available only during the summer months, but recently, the service had been opened to a year round schedule. In the past, Smyril Lines operated to the Shetland Islands, the coastal Norway port of Bergen and Scrabster in Scotland, but ended these services several years ago.

The M/F Norrona is the vessel that carries passengers along the Smyril Line route. Built in 2003, the ship provides the ultimate cruise for passengers, with a vast range of services and facilities to entertain, relax and comfort travelers along the voyage. Some of these include fine dining, vibrant nightclubs and bars, internet connection, assorted tax-free shopping, and a cinema.

In addition to a children’s playground, the M/F Norrona provides a plethora of activities and services to keep the youngsters smiling. Treasure hunts organized by the staff, arcade gaming rooms, and a kiddies pool are just of the children’s amenities available.

Accommodation onboard the M/F Norrona ranges from basic to luxurious. Couchettes, or small dormitories, are the cheapest option, and have limited amenities. The cabins include four-bed, three-bed, two-bed and deluxe suit options. All of the aforementioned cabins provide several facilities for passenger comfort and convenience, such as a TV, bed linen, 240 volt adaptors, and a private restroom.
