Torshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands located between Norway, Iceland and the UK. Torshavn Port is a popular stopover with ferries heading to and from the Shetland Islands, Iceland, Denmark and Norway. Torshavn Port offers many ferry services as well as great amenities.
Torshavn Port offers first class shopping facilities which are tax free for tourists. The main town is a five minute walk from the port itself and you will find a number of amenities such as tourist information points, restaurants, bars and a bank.

Operating from Reykjavik in Iceland is Eimskip’s Ferries. Eimskips flagship ferry the Bruarfoss leaves Iceland headed for Torshavn Port every two weeks. The Bruarfoss is well equipped with modern facilities and offers comfort. There is about six cabins only as the ship was original designed for transporting cargo. The ship however provides a pleasant journey.
P&O Scottish ferries also run a regular service to Torshavn Port from Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. The service is reliable and P&O offer special prices which can be found on there website. When arriving at Lerwick there are connecting ferries available to Aberdeen in Scotland.
All ferries that operate from Torshavn Port have amenities available for the disabled. The port provides wheelchair access onto the ferries although it is advisable to tell the operator when booking of any special requests. Torshaven Port has transport by taxis or buses to other villages on the Faroe Islands. The port also provides short and long-term parking.
