Transmanche Ferries provide a smooth and relatively quick connection between Paris and London’s closest ports, Dieppe and Newhaven. After P&O Stena ceased their Newhaven-Dieppe route in 1998, Transmanche Ferries was eventually formed and re-opened the popular route in 2001.
Transmanche Ferries operates the Dieppe-Newhaven line and makes frequent crossings at about three times a day. The journey takes approximately four hours, and is serviced all year round. Due to the favorable speed and number of daily crossings, only one ferry now operates the route – the Seven Sisters.
The Seven Sisters began operations between Dieppe and Newhaven in 2006, replacing the older ‘Dieppe’ and ‘Sardinia Vera’. With capable speeds of up to 22 knots and modern-designed stabilizers on board, The Seven Sisters ferry provides a quick and relatively smooth crossing, regardless of the weather conditions.
Onboard The Seven Sisters, passengers will find a plethora of facilities and entertainment to make their Transmanche Ferries experience a comfortable one. Some of the services include a self-service restaurant boasting a wide-selection of menus, a relaxing and entertaining lounge bar, panoramic promenade deck, children’s playroom, and movie screens.
The Seven Sisters also provides passengers with an opportunity to purchase a gift for that special someone. Books, electronics, tobacco, fragrances, and alcoholic beverages are just a selection of gift ideas available. Cabins are also on offer, even though the journey takes about four hours. There is one cabin which is fully-equipped for those passengers with reduced mobility, however, all cabins include basic amenities.
The terminal building in Newhaven Ferry Port has recently undergone a refurbishment to provide an improved service to patrons. Currently, there are a range of facilities to assist passenger needs, such as a cafeteria, toilets and disabled facilities, and shops within the terminal. The Dieppe Ferry Port terminal also offers similar services, keeping customer safety and satisfaction the highest priority.
