Between the summer months of May to September, Venezia Lines makes several connections a week from the Istrian coast to Trieste and Venice. From Trieste, passengers can connect to the towns of Rovinj and Porec, and from the port of Venice, Venezia Lines also travels to such towns as Porto Rose, Rovinj, Pirano, Porec, and Lussino.
From Venice to Porto Rose, the crossing is operated four times each week, and takes about 3 hours, 30 minutes. Venice-Pirano takes a little more than two hours to complete the crossing and departs from Venice twice a week. The route between Venice and Rovinj is a 3 hour, 30 minute journey that occurs three times each week.
The fleet of Venezia Lines consists of three operating vessels. The San Frangisk and the San Pawl are AirCushioned catamarans, using fanned air to lift the hull of the vessel. This results in higher speed, easy maneuverability, less noise, less fuel intake, and greater passenger comfort and safety.
The San Pawl and San Frangisk catamarans have a capacity of about 300 passengers, with around 280 fitting in the passenger hall, and another 30 in the Comfort Lounge. Facilities onboard the vessels include air-conditioning, shopping, a service area, and bars.
The San Gwann is one of the speediest ferries in the world, with top speeds of up to 43 knots. It can hold a capacity of over 420 passengers and 20 cars. The ferry has a number of facilities for passenger comfort, including two lounges with air-conditioning, relaxing bars and shopping.
Check-in at the Venice Ferry Port terminal should be made at least 1 hour, 30 minutes before departure for foot passengers, and about two hours for passengers with cars. Other smaller ports, such as Istria, usually require check-in about an hour before departure.
